The Stepwagon is a great van for nights away. A bog-standard Stepwagon with the right options is a mini camper just as it comes from the factory. Still, if you want a fully fitted motorcaravan, there are
converters both in Japan and the UK who offer some really great models.
The Japanese conversions are good machines, but are not ideal for use outside Japan. They are usually fitted with 100 volt electrics, are designed to use Japanese gas cartridges,
and are often fitted out to suit the smaller frames of Japanese people. Also, they often use American parts, which are sometimes of lower quality and may not be as easy to source outside
the US as European components.
British firms also convert Stepwagons, and for buyers in Britain and Europe Stepwagon.com recommends Wellhouse Leisure as the best of the bunch.
